Wymondham Youth Music Society

We formed in 2000 as a Millennium Project.

At the end of its 9th season WYMS has a membership of over 60 young musicians who have benefited from weekly participation in ensemble experience. they have preformed in Wymondham, Diss, Deopham, Norwich, Hingham and other locations in South and West Norfolk.

The society works closely with Norfolk Music Service and Wymondham symphony orchestra to provide musical opportunities for young players and singers.

Its activities are published on its website and in local schools, libraries and music shops. It has an excellent collection of percussion instruments and music sets.

WYMS is grateful for the support from the Norfolk County Council, South Norfolk County Council, Wymondham Council.

Wymondham Youth Orchestra 21st Season

WYO was formed in 1988 by Kay Dorling in response to the needs of young musicians in South and West Norfolk. Under its musical Director Margery Baker it has performed regularly at the locations in Norfolk and Suffolk, ending each season with a concert in Wymondham Abbey.

The orchestra\\\'s repertoire includes symphonies, concertos and shorter works from the 17th to the 20th century, with works from Bach to Dankworth. \\\'Bounce\\\' written by composer In Residence Tom Armstrong in 2004, extended their repertoire into the 21st century.
